The death occurred at Andrews of Summerside, on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, of Kenneth Erskine Leard, formerly of Fortune Cove, aged 100 years, husband of the late Edith (MacRae) Leard. Born in Fortune Cove on June 29, 1917, son of the late G. Russell and Clara (Lockerby) Leard. Loving father to Sylvia Yeo, Summerside; Anna Marie (Tyndall) Semple, Kensington and Earl, Fortune Cove. Dear grandfather to Sharon (Derrick) Cameron, Charlottetown and Stephen (Kelly) Horne, Halifax; Sandra (John) Van der Velden, Cochrone, AB and Karen (Jim) McCarron, Oakville, On and to great grandchildren Andrew & Ryan Cameron, Robbie & Alex Horne Chelsey (Mike) Harris, Trent Van der Velden (Kelsey), Kurt Johnstone, Cody Johnstone (Elizabeth), Dustin (Leanne) Johnstone, Shaylen & Riley McCarron. Ken is also survived by brothers Earl, Toronto, ON and Gordon (Leta) Leard, Summerside. Predeceased by his parents, sons in law Robert Horne and Charlie Yeo and by his brother Bill. Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary with visiting hours on Thursday, August 24th from 4-7 p.m. Funeral will be held on Friday at Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Cascumpec United Cemetery.
