Nancy (Burke) Andrews, formerly of Margaret Street, Sydney, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at the Northside Community Guest Home, where she had been a resident for the past two and half years.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Phyllis (Libby) Burke.
For 34 years, Nancy worked for Maritime Tel and Tel in Sydney, retiring in 1992. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend.
Nancy is survived by her brother, Gary (Linda), Toronto; sister, Judy Ross, Halifax; niece, Stacey (Greg) Cummings; nephew, Keith Ross; grandnephew and grandniece, Jordan and Payton Cummings. She is also survived by her longtime friend, Lorraine MacDonald.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold Andrews in 1984, and nephew in infancy.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel, Saturday, 2 p.m., with Norma Mills, DLM officiating.
Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northside Community Guest Home.
