DORA MASTALIER
After a lengthy and full life, Dora Mastalier, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home in Prince Albert, SK. Dora was born on November 2, 1912 in Rush Lake, SK, where she lived with her parents John and Catherine (nee Unrau) Jahnke and her sisters Elma (Wilfred) Plante, Eva (Lloyd) McFaul and brother Leonard (Madeline) Jahnke. Dora married the love of her life Johnny on June 15, 1935. They lived for awhile on a farm near Hodgeville, SK. Sadly, the dirty thirties forced them to move to Saskatoon where they raised their family. Dora was predeceased by her husband Johnny in 1969 and a daughter Francis Jean in infancy. Dora will be fondly remembered and missed by her son Ray (Arlene) Mastalier; her daughter Pat (Emil) Hradecki; her grandsons Ryan, Noah, Josh (Michelle) and great-grandchildren Nolan, Ezra, Whelan, Teal and Anna. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8 from the Chapel of Hillcrest Funeral Home. Reverend David Moors will officiate. Interment will take place in the Garden of the Apostles, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Saskatoon, SK. Donations in Dora’s memory can be made to the Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home or to the charity of the donor’s choice. RIVER PARK MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Prince Albert, SK 764-2727 and HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME, Saskatoon, SK 477-4400 are entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
