Blair MacDonald

Blair M. MacDonald, 83, of The Briarlea, Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, April 16, 2011. Born in the Saratoga Springs, NY, he was the son of the late Herbert and Edith (MacMaster) MacDonald. Blair attended Miramichi Rural High School and graduated from Success Business College, Moncton with the Highest Honors. He was retired from the Canadian National Telegraph as a Telegrapher and enjoyed fishing for trout, hunting for partridge and pheasants, woodworking, oil painting and photography. Blair will be sadly missed by his sisters, Shirley MacDonald of Moncton and Marion Baxter (Charles) of Halifax, NS; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Constance “Connie”, Gwendolyn “Gwen” and Jean; one brother, Bliss, who was killed in action while serving overseas in the Second World War.
No visitation hours by personal request. Funeral Service will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday, April 21, 2011, 1:30pm, Rev. Dr. James MacDonald officiating. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment, St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery, Bay du Vin, in the spring. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Management and Staff of The Briarlea for the kind and compassionate care shown to Blair during his stay.
