KENDALL, Mary “Christine” Audrey Ann — 66, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 unexpectedly at the Hants Community Hospital. Born May 23, 1944, in Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Lt.-Col. Dr. Henry Ernest Kendall, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia in the mid 1940s, and Margaret Hetty Joan Kendall, daughter of Senator John Stewart McLennan. Christine was a very gentle soul who adored animals and had a special soft spot for her pet rabbits. She was originally from Curry’s Corner and happily spent the last two decades with her beloved friends at Hants Community Homes on Burgess Ave., Windsor. Christine leaves behind, and will be sadly missed by, her nephew, Ernie (Suzanne) Kendall, of Langley, B.C. She also leaves behind niece, Katherine (Gilmore) Huntley, of Sweet’s Corner, and many great nieces and nephews. Christine was predeceased by her parents; aunt, Katherine McLennan, of Sydney; brothers, John Stewart Kendall, of Windsor, and Hugh McLennan Kendall, of the Isle of Wight, UK; half sister, Helen Kendall, of Sydney; and nephews, Stewart Kendall, of Curry’s Corner, and Bart Kendall, of Kamloops, B.C. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. The funeral service was 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 in Lindsay’s Funeral Home Chapel, followed by cremation. Rev. Jeffrey White officiated. Interment will be in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney, Cape Breton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hants County SPCA c/o Tammy Rhyno 25 Chiphill Road, RR 2, Newport, Hants County, NS, B0N 2A0. The Kendalls would like to especially thank the staff and residents of Hants Community Homes for truly being Christine’s family and for all your love and dedication. Many thanks as well to the staff of Hants Community Hospital for your patient and tender care of Christine over the past couple of months.
