CLARK, Peter Donald Alexander - 68, passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 in Orchard Hall, Shannex, Kentville. He was born in Wick, Scotland on January 25, 1943. He is survived by his dear wife, Agnes; loving children, John, North West Territories and Fiona, The Hague, Netherlands, formerly of Bridgewater; a sister, Elizabeth, New Zealand. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Hamish. He was a proud Scotsman, who after lots of travel in the Merchant Navy, immigrated to Canada in 1970 where he worked for the Federal Government. His job brought him from coast to coast and many places in between. He was a gentle man who loved his garden and his dog. He enjoyed a good joke and a wee dram of whisky. After his retirement in 1995, he settled in the Valley and his travelling continued, especially enjoying trips to Australia, New Zealand and going home to bonnie Scotland. Cremation has taken place. At Peter’s request, in lieu of visitation or a funeral service, an informal gathering of family and friends will take place from 2-4 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. His ashes will be scattered at sea at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the S.P.C.A. or the Alzheimer Society. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Orchard Hall for the care and compassion shown to Peter.
