It is with great sadness that we the family of Laurie Donohue announce her sudden passing on September 15, 2017 in Halifax. Born in Dingwall on June 11, 1945 to Joseph Anthony and Mary Elizabeth (Daisley) Donohue.
Laurie was a longtime Dingwall resident who in recent years moved to Sydney because of health reasons. She will be deeply missed by her family and community who grew to appreciate her wonderful sense of humour and quick wit. Her big heart and compassion for others made her a wonderful caregiver to those entrusted to her.
Laurie is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Jeffrey) Newell; granddaughter, Keerstin; her siblings, Sharon McCaskey, Lester Donohue, Mary Donohue and Claire Donohue, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Along with her parents, she is also predeceased by her sister, Mary Lee Miller, and nephew, Joey Fitzgerald.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, September 21 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with the Funeral Mass commencing at 11 both from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dingwall with Fr. Lazarus Guria officiating.
