The death occurred at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, of Albert (Albar) Gallant, formerly of Toronto Road, age 85.
Albert was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Catherine (Blacquiere) Gallant and a younger sister.
Albert worked at various farms during his working life and spent the last 15 years, before retirement, at the Fred MacRae farm in Wheatley River, where he was considered part of the family.
He is survived by several cousins and his "special" goddaughter, Gloria Walsh.
Visitation will be held at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, on Saturday, April 23, 2011, from 9:30 a.m to 10:15 a.m., followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Hope River.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the St. Anne’s Cemetery Fund would be appreciated.
