GIFFORD , Mrs. Rebecca – Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, October 31, 2008, Mrs. Rebecca Gifford of Coley’s Point, aged 94 years. Predeceased by parents: Robert and Elizabeth Jane Mercer (nee Bradbury); husband: Harris; son: Wesley (died in infancy); sisters: Fannie (Roy) Arsenuau, Louise (Ebenezer) Strickland; brother: William; step-brother: Robert Walsh; brother-in-law: Lester Dawson. Leaving to mourn, sons: Junior (Shirley), Coley’s Point, William (Shirley), Coley’s Point, Pastor David (Bessie), Howley, Wayne (Isabel), Paradise; Everett (Brenda), Paradise; daughters: Gladys (Don) Clarke, St. John’s, Louise Royal, Alabama, Evelyn (Calvin) Russell, Bay Roberts; sister Rita Dawson, North Bay, Ontario; sister-in-law: Malvina Walsh; 33 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Moore’s Funeral Home, Bay Roberts. Visitation Saturday: 2-5 PM; 7-9 PM; Sunday: 10 - 12 Noon; 2-5 PM; 7-9 PM; Monday 10 - 12 Noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, November 03, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from The Pentecostal Tabernacle, Port de Grave. Interment in Pentecostal Cemetery, Bay Roberts.
