NEW GLASGOW – John Harold Callahan, 74, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late John and Irene (Tanner) Callahan.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, New Glasgow,
a welder at the former Hawker Siddeley, enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Linda (Joyce); daughter, Paula (Brad) Pitts, New Glasgow; son, Johnny (Heather), Merigomish; grandchildren, Wayne, David, and Evan; great granddaughter, Rayna; sister, Sharon (George) Gunton, Dunnville, Ont; brothers, Wayne (Ella); Roger, both of New Glasgow.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by sister, Marg; brother in-law, Jim.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
