1932-2017
The family of Genevieve (Gen) Gillis is very grateful to the many friends, neighbours and former colleagues who were so supportive in our grief at the passing of our sister Gen. We thank everyone who sent sympathy cards, often with memorial donations and touching notes of affection and respect for Gen. We thank those who phoned, brought food and flowers to our home, and helped with hospitality. We are grateful to several people at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, Sydney, for a moving funeral Mass, and in particular to Fr. Bill Burke for a thoughtful homily, and to the organist and choir for wonderful music. We also thank the doctors, nurses and support staff of the cardiac unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their compassionate care of Genevieve in her last days.
