Mary Power

Date de décès : 16 octobre 2017

It is with the deepest sadness that we, the family of Mary Power, 87, announce her passing on October 16, 2017 at the Cove Guest Home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Mary was born November 28, 1929 in Benacadie, Cape Breton. She was the oldest and last surviving of three sisters, Margie and Dena, born to the Late Norman and Bessie MacNeil. She was a long time member of St. Theresa’s Parish.
Mary retired from the Royal Bank in Whitney Pier in 1989, where she made many friends over the years. She loved nothing more than family get-togethers with lots of good food. She took care of her fur babies like they were her grandkids. She enjoyed ceramics, exercise with Margie, working around the yard, and long drives with Dad.
Mary lived at the Cove for almost 2 years, where she was loved and taken care of by the wonderful and compassionate staff.
Mary is survived by her son, Jim (Mary), Alberta, and daughter, Carol (Harry), Sydney; grandchildren, Elaine (Ian), Carla, Holly, Lisa and Kenny; step-grandchildren, Matthew (Paula) and Nicole, as well as great grandchildren, Kaylee and Josh; step-great grandchildren, Kevin, Daniel and Ella Marie; great-great grandson, Gordie, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Gordon, and sisters, Margaret and Dena. Funeral arrangements for Mary are incomplete at this time, and will be published as soon as they are available.
Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Cove Guest Home.
