Baird, Carson “Ted” – 76, Lower Truro passed away peacefully April 21, 2011 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Ted was born on March 11, 1935 in Truro and was a son of the late Carson and Mae (McKay) Baird, Lower Truro. He worked for his uncle, Bert McLaren, Eastern Transport and for his son Charles, driving a forwarder. He enjoyed many sports such as darts, bowling, hockey and curling. Ted was also a member of the Cobequid District Fire Brigade. In later years, Ted loved to garden. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Grethe (Nielsen); sons, Charles (Shaun), Craig (Corrina); daughters, Cathy (Steve), Cheryl (Perry), Cindy (Stu); grandchildren, Aaron, Nicole, Lauren, Sara, Patrick, Todd, Hannah, Alex, Ryan, Jillian; great-granddaughter, Brooke; brother, David (Carol); many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26th from 1-2 pm followed by a memorial service at 2 pm all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev.
