Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, Elva Burke (nee Blackwood), age 89 years. Predeceased by her parents: John and Luella Blackwood; brothers: Frank, Baxter, Albert and John; sisters: Jean, Florence and Margaret; brother-in-law Arthur Burke and sister-in-law Helen McDade. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Glynn; sons: Frank (Valerie) and Glynn; grandchildren: Kenneth (Jennifer) and Aaron (Ashley); great-grandson Jude; sister-in-law Norma Blackwood; brother-in-law John Burke (Betty); as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday from 7-9pm and then on Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service to be held from Barrett's Chapel on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
