Alma later entered The Salvation Army Officer's Training School in New York in 1957 under the session name of Courageous. She retired as Director of the Senior Center in Buffalo, New York in 1997. The many friends she made along the way in towns like White Plains, Tamaqua, Pottsville, Bethlehem, Scranton, Williamsport, and in Syracuse and Buffalo will miss her dearly.
