Ormond Francis, WWII Veteran, RCAF passed away peacefully in his 91st year on Monday, October 11th, 2010 in Alliston, Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Florence Francis; step mother Effie; and brothers Robert, Gordon, Donald and Calvin. Beloved husband of Helen (Gemmell) for over 60 years, Orm will be missed by his sister Elaine Noble of Moose Jaw; step sister Mildred Zalesky of Surrey; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Orm grew up in the Tilney area and ranched mink near Moose Jaw after serving in England during the war. He and Helen then lived in Newfoundland and Ontario until now. They made frequent trips west to satisfy the “Prairie Boy” in him and to visit many friends. Following a committal in the Veteran’s field in Rosedale Cemetery, a Celebration of life and memorial service will be held on Friday, April 29th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral home.
