The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Sunday, April 24, 2011 of Roy Joseph Albert of Summerside, aged 72 years. Roy was born on Oct. 24, 1938 in Mimminegash, P.E.I. to his late parents, Henry and Katherine (nee Gaudet) Albert. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Shea) Albert and loving father of Donna (Fred) Affleck of Summerside, Victor of New York, U.S.A., Harley (Georgia) of Barrie ON., Debbie (Mike) Hicken of Summerside and Shelley of Fort Nelson, B.C. Also lovingly remembered by his 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers and sisters: Steven (Donna), Aurella (Gerry) Dieser, Ronnie (Pauline), Joseph (Stella), Edlow (Lorriane), Claude (Julia), Pat, Carol (Owen) Gaudet, Marie (Donnie) MacAusland, Dora (Tommy) MacKenzie, Gloria Bowles and Beatrice Palmer. Besides his parents, Roy was predeceased by his brother Ivan and sisters Elizabeth Arsenault and Anna McNeil. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, April 28, 2011 then to St. Paul’s Church Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. No visiting hours by personal request. Memorial donations in Roy’s memory to the P.E.I. Humane Society or the East Prince Funeral Home Chapel Fund would be greatly appreciated.
