It is with great sadness that the family of the late MARY HILLIER SLADE of Fortune announces her passing at The Blue Crest Home in Grand Bank on Thursday April 21, 2011 at the age of 85. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are Sons Frank (Florence) Hillier of Fortune, Reg (Linda) Hillier of Burin, Edward (Betty) Hillier of Fortune, Merrill (Shirley) Hillier of Antigonish, NS and Manuel Hillier of Marystown; Daughters Doris Rose (Fred Murphy) of Fortune, and Maxine (Terry) Symes of Fortune; Sisters Dorothy (John) Phillips of English Harbour West, Annie Hynes of St. Bernard’s, Lucy Hillier of Grand Bank and Carrie Hillier of Grand Bank; 14 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; plus a large circle of family and friends. Pre-deceased by Husband Maxwell, Son Maxwell, Son-in-law William Rose, and Brothers George, Norman, Phillip and Manuel. Funeral Service took place on Sunday April 24, 2011 at 2:30pm from All Saints Anglican Church. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Fortune. In Mary’s memory, donations may be made to the Anglican Church Cemetery Fund.
