Living in Gander, Formerly, of Belldown's Point, NL. Passed away peacefully at the James Peyton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL on Sunday November 5th, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children, Sterling (Judi), Wilson (Nora), Carson (Edith), and Ruth (Ron), her grandchildren who she loved dearly: Angela (Josh), Adrian (Samantha), Andrew, Jason, Fleisha (Shea), Rebecca, Lloyd (Barbara) and Denise (Mark) her great-grandchildren, her sisters: Evangeline Payne, Lizzie Hiscock, and Ula Payne, sisters-in-law: Doylena Caines, Leah Knott, Gwen Slauson and Elizabeth Payne. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, Eliza Jane and Martin Caines, her husband Ellis Payne, brothers, John, Wilson (Annie), Fred, Martin (Emma), and her sister Dorothy (Frank), her brothers-in-law, Leonard Hiscock, Len Payne, and Chris Payne, also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. The family will be receiving family and friends at the Parson's Pond Gospel Hall, Parsons Pond NL, on Tuesday November 7th, 2017 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm and Wednesday November 8th, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm where, also, the funeral service will take place on Thursday November 9th, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Mr. Gaius Goff officiating. Burial will follow at the Gospel Hall Cemetery, Parson's Pond, NL.
