Elizabeth "Betty" Chambré Greer
CHAMBRÉ GREER, ELIZABETH “BETTY” (nee CASSADY) - In the presence of her husband Tom, Elizabeth Chambré Greer passed peacefully into the eternal care of God, on April 26, 2011 at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was 84. Born in Saint John, NB on May 27, 1926, she was predeceased by her mother Gertrude Cassady and her first husband Charles Calcott Chambré. Elizabeth was a retired nurse, having began her career in Montreal and retiring from the V.P.H. in Fredericton. She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Nashwaaksis, as well as the A.C.W. Survived by her husband Tom Greer; children William Chambré wife Andrea of Williamstown, ON, Jane Chambré of Montreal, PQ, Kathleen Chambré (George Turenne) of Toronto, ON; five grandchildren Alexandra Rubenstein, Jesse and Billy Turenne, Samuel and Cody Chambré; half sister Ruth Barker husband Michael of Gondola Point; cousins Marlene Mitchell husband Cecil of Truro, NS, Helen Jones husband Ernest of Fredericton; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two half brothers Robert and James.
Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road on Friday from 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 AM with Rev. Bill McMullin officiating. Interment in the Highfield Cemetery, Cody’s, NB.
