CASWELL - Ada passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 16th, 2011 in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband, Chester; her parents Edwin and Lillie Plunkett; siblings Bill, Del, Leo, Doris, Jean and John. Ada is survived by her daughters, Leslie (Donald) Schaufele, Medicine Hat, AB, Lexy (Richard)Wong, Calgary, AB; four grandchildren, Bobbi Jo (Kurt), Kevin, Kyle and Nathan; and three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Luke and Jack. Ada's extended family includes sisters-in-law Vera and Beulah and brothers-in-law Hugh, Mervin and Owen as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ada was born in Saskatoon and attended a country school near Cheviot and later Bedford Road Collegiate in Saskatoon. She spent 3 years in Ontario during the depression working in Godrich, Toronto and at a camp in northern Ontario. During and after the war years she helped out on the family farm and took care of many of her nieces and nephews. She also spent time in Vancouver managing a bakery. Chester and Ada married in 1955 and farmed near Success, Sask. She was a very good cook and loved to bake. She was passionate about her family, her garden, her church and her community. Ada was a devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt. If family needed care she was there without question. Ada and Chester retired to Swift Current in 1977 and thoroughly enjoyed their retirement travelling, gardening, bowling and golfing with many wonderful friends. On Chester's passing in 1994, Ada moved to Medicine Hat to be closer to family. She enjoyed living in her condo and made many new friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, May 2nd, 2011 at Grace United Church, 405-4th Avenue S.E. Swift Current, Sask. with lunch to follow interment.
