Gonzales, Claude - 85, Belmont passed away suddenly at home April 27, 2011. He was born in Victoria, Cuba. Claude served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 21 years. He was a hard worker on his farm, enjoyed the outdoors and cooking for his family and friends. He was especially proud of his garden and flowers and enjoyed many a time arguing about politics. His special loves were his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Elfrede (Romahn); daughters, Jennifer (Terry) George, Oromocto, NB, Beth (Robert) Gonzales-Moser, Queensbury, NB; six grandchildren; sister, Manuela, Florida; brother, John, New York. He was predeceased by his parents and his son, John D. Gonzales. A special time of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, May 3rd beginning with a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service at 10:00 am followed by visitation until 12 noon, all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Interment will follow in Belmont Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
