The death occurred on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in Gore Bay, Manitoulin Island, Ontario, of Mildred Ann (MacDonald) Cusack, age 101.
She was the only remaining member of the nine children of Catherine McKenna and Lewis (Johnny Angus) MacDonald of South Lake.
Survived by her children Doreen Beagan, Burnell/Bernie (Patricia), Leigh (Jill), Kevin (Carole), Glendyn/Glen (Sandra), Colleen Miller Dunn, Sharon Stephens (Richard), Wayne (Claire), Pauline Loos (Barry Stokes). Also survived by 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Helen and Frances MacDonald, Halifax; special cousin, Kevin McKenna (Geraldine), Oshawa; cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Emmett Cusack (1983), all of his brothers and sisters and their spouses; sons-in-law Tom Beagan and Gordon Dunn; daughters-in-law Frances Walker and Lola Tobobadung; and grandson Grant Cusack.
Memorial masses offered for her intentions, or donations to Campaign Life Coalition, Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, or a women’s shelter, would be expressions of sympathy dear to Mildred’s heart.
Resting at the Charlottetown Funeral Home for visitation Monday, May 2, 2011, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at St. Bonaventure Church, Tracadie Cross at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
