(January 10, 1929 - August 8, 2009). Passed peacefully away, in the presence of her loving family, at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, August 8, 2009, Alma Williams of New Harbour, aged 80 years. Predeceased by her husband Nelson (1987); parents: Elizabeth and Ernest Higdon and brothers: Lloyd and Ernest Higdon (Jr.) Leaving to mourn are her three daughters and four sons, Gloria (Reg) Penney, Port Blanford, Cynthia (Stirling) Russell, Blaketown, Valerie (Ray) Butt, New Harbour, Harry (Linda), Donald (Sherry-Lee), Michael, David (Terri Lynn), all of New Harbour. Also missing Nan are seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Norma, Bell Island and special brother-in-law, Reg Williams; two sisters-in-law: Ruth Higdon, Buchans and Hettie Higdon, Gambo, as well as many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Resting at Warren’s Funeral Home in Dildo with visitation on Sunday, August 9th, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from St. Augustine's Anglican Church, New Harbour, on Tuesday, August 11 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
