Hoare, Alvin Bent, 84, Truro, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Charles and Myra (Bryson) Hoare. Alvin formerly worked for the Truro Daily News and the Halifax Herald as a reporter. He was a long time member of the Truro Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He is survived by a son Jack Baird, BC; grandchildren, Nicholas Bezanson, Danielle Bezanson, Deven Wright, Corey Wright; great-grandson Jacob Alexander MacDonald; nephew Greg Hoare, Prince George, BC.
He was predeceased by a daughter Bobbi-Jo Baird; brother Norman.
No visitation by family request. Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 7th at 2 pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 183 Waller Drive, Truro with Mr. David Spence officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Alvin’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
