Wood, Kenneth Lance, 33, of Truro, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2009 at home. Born in Truro, he was a son of Goldie (McCullough) Bernardi and the late Lance Wood. Ken graduated from CEC in Truro in 1995. He obtained a Diploma in French and a Bilingual Certificate from University Sainte-Anne in 1996. He graduated from Dalhousie University with a BA in French in 1998. Ken worked as an In-Charge Flight Attendant for several years before recently relocating back to Truro. He was a kind and compassionate person who enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, especially his favorite nephew. He was a member of Hubtown Theatre Society prior to moving to Halifax. He will be sadly missed by all family and friends but has left great memories for all to cherish.
Besides his mother, Ken is survived by a sister Kara Wood, Truro; brother Mark Wood, Truro; nephew, Ashley Wood; step-father Nick Bernardi; half-sister Melony Godreau (Michael), Kentville; step-brothers Dominic and Daniel Bernardi, Amherst; several cousins and aunts and uncless.
Visitation will be 7-9 Thursday and funeral service Friday, August 14th, at 2 pm, all in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Mental Health Services Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation.
