Judith Anne (Martin) Dore
The largely attended mass of Christian burial was held for the late Judith Anne (Martin) Dore on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Saint Agnes Church, New Waterford, Nova Scotia with Father Paul MacNeil (family friend) as celebrant. Readings chosen by the family were beautifully proclaimed by Suzanne Ley (niece) and Mike Martin (uncle). Prayer intentions written by Gail Martin (sister-in-law) were read by Cara Martin (niece). Offertory gifts were presented by: Sharon MacDougall (sister), Martin Hodder (godchild, nephew), Chrissie and Marc Dore (children) and Ash Jaffer (Partner). The Saint Leonard\'s combined choir and friends under the direction of Lorette Campbell, accompanied by Charlie Campbell filled the church with heavenly music. Soloists were Karen MacSween (friend), Patsy Murgatroyd (friend) and Lynn Fitzgerald, Kelly Martin and Ron Martin (siblings). Eucharistic minsters were Lorrie Hodder (sister), Geraldine Loro, Arlene Edwards, Winnie Odo and Regina Dorhety (friends). Pallbearers were Judy\'s four brothers: Ricky, Tony, Ronnie, and Jamie. Judy was laid to rest beside her brother David in Saint Agnes Cemetery. A reception and time of fellowship followed at Saint Agnes Parish Centre where lunch was provided by the dedicated members of the parish Catholic Women\'s League.

We the family of the late Judith Anne (Martin) Dore would like to thank everyone who helped in any way during the recent loss of our beloved daughter, sister, partner and mother. First and foremost we would like to thank all those involved with Judy\'s care during her brief, yet challenging journey with cancer, especially those involved with Hospice Care Victoria, B.C. and our special sister Sharon who lovingly and tenderly cared for Judy in the last months of her life. We would like to thank our families close friends and neighbors who were our eyes, ears and feet as we struggled through many difficult days. Your friendship, love and support richly blessed our family. Our heartfelt thanks to all who took time out of their busy lives to attend the wake and funeral in New Waterford and the memorial service in B.C. Every story or memory shared with us brought joy into our time of grief. Thank you for those special moments. Our sincere thanks to all who participated in the funeral mass. We are very proud of the beautiful liturgy that Judy received. Each one of you went the extra mile to make it special and we will be forever grateful. Special thanks to relatives and friends, who telephoned, sent flowers, letters, mass and sympathy cards, made donations in Judy\'s memory, visited and brought food to our homes. Your kindness has reminded us of the goodness that still exists in the world. It was such a comfort to our family to know that you shared in our pain. A special thank you to the the staff of the Victoria Memorial Gardens in B.C. and the staff of the V.J. MacGillivray Funeral Home in New Waterford, N.S. Your care and tender compassion during such a difficult time was greatly appreciated by our family. To all we are truly grateful. Your love and prayers will never be forgotten. They have strengthened us and will continue to sustain us as we move forward in the days ahead. God bless each one of you.
