MELANSON, EDGAR - 1934 - 2011 - Edgar Melanson, 77, of Villa du Repos, Moncton, formerly of Dieppe, NB, passed away on Saturday, April 30th, 2011 at his residence. Born in Scoudouc, NB, he was the son of the late Stanislas and the late Beatrice (née: Belliveau) Melanson. Mr. Melanson had worked as a mechanic at Phil’s/Sam’s Garage (Irving) and was a member of the Saint-Anselme parish. He is survived by one daughter, Gisèle (Roger) Bastarache; one son, Rhéal (Diane DesRoches), both of Dieppe; three sisters: Doris (late Léo) Breau of Saint-Anselme, Yvette (Aquilla) Allain of Moncton and Georgette (late Roger) Melanson of Shédiac, NB; two brothers: Sam (Gilberte) and Gérald (Laura), both of Dieppe; four grandchildren: Natalie, Nicole, Martin and Alex as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose in December 2010 and also by four sisters: Yvonne, Edith, Gérene and Phyllis.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Saint-Anselme Roman Catholic Church, Dieppe, NB, on Thursday, May 5th, 2011 at 11 am. Interment at the Chartersville Funeral Home Columbarium, Dieppe, NB.
