Marguerite Ward (Coombs)

Passed peacefully away in the presence of her children and family at the age of 70 years. Marguerite was a dedicated mother, who always put her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren first. Marguerite’s quick wit, resilience and love will remain in the hearts and minds of her family, friends and co-workers at The Corner Store Bakery. Her bright smile will be missed by many. Marguerite was often heard saying, necessity is the mother of invention, and when there was a need, Marguerite would fill that need with whatever she could access, from a needle and thread to a heartfelt letter. Marguerite is predeceased by her daughter Lisa Cribby (Ward), her mother and father, Leo and Doris Coombs, her brothers Ray and Howard Coombs, her sister Doreen Martin (Coombs), and her good friend Wayne Rideout. Leaving to mourn her children Ralph Ward, Kelly Ward, Rosalind Wiseman (Michael), and Aaron Ward (Erin), and their father Russell Ward. Brothers Ron Coombs (Genny), Russell Coombs (Lorraine), Leo Coombs (Bonnie), sister Germaine Molloy (Greg), and sisters-in-law Theresa Coombs, Jackie Coombs, and Fannie Coombs. Grandchildren Keagan and Sean (Keagan and Sean’s father Paul Cribby), Meghan, Emily, Riley (Riley’s mom Tammy), Noah, Joshua, Maddison, Sophia, Liam and Aiden. Great-grandchildren Maria, Liam, and Kylie. Son-in-law Kerry Leonard, lifelong friend Brenda Gayle and many special nieces and nephews. Marguerite’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at the Miller Center Palliative Care Unit for the exceptional loving care provided to their mother during her stay there. Visitation will take place at Fahey’s Funeral Home in Trepassey on Thursday December 14, 2017 from 1:00 - 5:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm and Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Funeral mass to follow 11:00 am at Holy Redeemer Church in Trepassey. Interment to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Portugal Cove South.
