Lawlor, Myrtle V — 93, was born April 5, 1918 and passed away April 14, 2011. Myrtle was one of seven children born to Oscar and Rose Sanford in Cogmagun, Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by brothers: Clifford, Brenton, and Albert; sisters: Stella, and Maisie. She is survived by brother, Donald. She leaves behind daughters: Carol Horsman (Moncton, New Brunswick) and Rosalea Sharpley (Sabattus, Maine); son Daryl Lawlor (Calgary, Alberta); grandchildren: Kandi Horsman, Todd Horsman, Trevor Jones, Peter and John Sharpley; great grandchildren: Alex, Kyle, Lyndsey, Breanna, Olivia, Steven and Sabrina; plus several nephews and nieces. She had several jobs over her lifetime including being in the air force, hairdressing, Marvens of Moncton, telephone operator/supervisor in St. Stephen and Moncton. She retired from the telephone company in Moncton almost 30 years ago. She played the piano and organ in the Cherryfield Baptist Church for several years while she lived in that community and was a regular church attendee and member of Brentwood Baptist Church in the west end for most of her later years. Her passion was her vegetable garden, which she still planted and worked in every summer. She also loved to plant flowers around her house in Moncton and in Florida where she spent the last five winters. A memorial service was held at Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton. The family invites you to sign the online book of condolences at www.fairhavemenoirial.ca.
