HOPEWELL – Mary Darlene MacDonald, 44, of Hopewell, Pictou County, passed away August 11, 2009, at her home.
Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of James Alexander and Catherine Florence (Crook) Morrison, Thorburn.
Darlene had been a resident of Hopewell for the past eight years. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to watch the hummingbirds. Darlene loved to draw and collect pictures. She adored her four children: Jimmy Morrison, Trafalgar Rd.; John MacDonald, Kamloops, BC; Magen MacPherson and Jacob MacPherson, both at home. She is also survived by her partner, Michael MacPherson, Hopewell; brother, John MacDonald, Merigomish; sisters, Debbie Fraser, Priestville; Sandra Hale, Hopewell; step-daughters, Tara (Frank) Proudfoot, New Glasgow; Micaelene (Dewayne) Cooper, MacLellan’s Mountain; step-grandchildren, Emma and Bella Proudfoot, Haley and Jorden Cooper; step-brother, Jimmy (Heather ) Morrison, Stellarton; paternal grandmother, Delia Morrison, Drummond Road; several nieces and nephews; special aunty Pat and uncle Bill; special friends, Hilda (Don) MacNeil, Thorburn; biological father, Robert MacDonald, Antigonish.
She was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Catherine and Seymore Crook; paternal grandfather, John Hugh Morrison; John Colin and Mary MacDonald.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Thorburn. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
