Committal service for the late Jean Smith will be held Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. in Black Brook Cemetery, Port Morien with Rev. Jackie MacDonald officiating.
Jean passed away in Campbellford, Ont. on Sept. 10, 2010, following a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Jean was a 1960 graduate of the “Old” General Hospital where she worked for 10 years, she also worked at the Grace Maternity and the N.S. Hospital while living in Halifax.
Jean and her husband Ewen Smith formerly of Port Morien resided for many years in Westmount, C.B. where they raised their family. In 2007 they moved to Onatrio to be closer to their married children and grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her husband, Ewen; daughter, Cathy (George) Thompson; sons, Lauchlin (Sonya), Leslie (Lenora) and her grandchildren, Patrick, Emma, Ericka. Also the extended MacMillan and Smith families.
A reception will follow the committal service at St. Paul’s Hall to meet the family. Everyone Welcome.
