SCHRODER, HERMAN - Herman Schroder of Quispamsis passed away at home April 19, 2011. Herman was born in Hamburg, Germany in January of 1933 and immigrated to Canada with his wife, Irma in 1958. After arriving in Saint John from Hamburg they traveled to Ontario, but soon returned to Saint John. Here they operated a very busy business the "Chinook Beauty Spot". Herman lived with his wife until her death 3 years ago. The warmth and support of friends and neighbors elevated Herman’s spirits in the final years of his life. Herman died in his Quispamsis home after a brief stay at the hospital at the age of 78. Herman is survived by his daughter Sabina and son Tom; grandsons Karl and Luke and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). By request there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date.
