Frank Maxwell
Frank Maxwell, age 79, of Sackville, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 after a brief illness.
Born in Sackville, he was the son of the late Harry Maxwell and Vera (Snowdon) Maxwell.
As a young man, Frank managed a dairy farm with his father on Queens Road. After the sale of the farm, he was employed for a number of years at Enterprise Foundry and Mount Allison University. Following his retirement, he continued with his life’s passion of woodworking, a craft in which he was very talented. Much of the community became familiar with his gift of working with wood.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma; daughter Ruthie of Reno, Nevada; son Rick of Waterloo, Ontario; and sister Elaine Lund of Sackville. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Hazel Estabrooks.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Jones Funeral Home, Sackville. A private family committal service will be conducted by Rev. Kevin Stockall at a later date at the Sackville Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Frank’s memory to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital ICU unit, or the Sackville Cemetery.
