Peacefully at home on Thursday, August 13, 2009, of Mr. George Howard Hood of Cherry Drive, Sherwood, age 85.
Beloved husband of the late Priscilla (nee Kent) Hood. Dear father of Gerald (Margaret) of Cornwall; Dr. Gregg (Lois) of Rocky Point; Keith (Louise) of Calgary, Alta.; Dana (Wendy) of Kentville, N.S.; Ricky (Deborah) of Charlottetown; Carmel (Donald) of Moncton, N.B.; Lorel of Toronto, Ont.; and Bob (Rhalda) of Sherwood. Cherished grandfather of 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Rowland of Halifax, N.S. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Euphemia; stepmother, Louise; brothers, Ernest, Donald and Robert; and grandson, Jason.
Resting at the Charlottetown Funeral Home until 9:45 Monday morning, then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
If so desired, contributions in George’s memory may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Stroke Unit.
Visiting hours at the funeral home on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Members of Branch No. 1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will gather at the funeral home to hold a veteran’s tribute service on Sunday at 6:45 p.m.
