Alton Chase
CHASE, ALTON EDWARD SR. - Alton E. Chase Sr. of Bull Lake, York Co., NB passed away May 4, 2011 at his home. Born at Woodstock, NB in 1940, he was a son of the late Frederick and Ruth (Grant) Chase. Alton began as a woodsworker, then was employed as a sheet metal worker at St. Anne Pulp Mill for several years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with the Department of Transportation as a grader operator for 27 years. Following his retirement, Alton enjoyed part-time work delivering newspapers. He was an avid hunter and an awesome husband, father and papa. Alton is survived by his wife, Barbara J. (Foster) Chase; a daughter, Sherry Chase (Randy), Lepreau, NB; a son, Alton Chase Jr. (Tammy), Nackawic, NB; four grandchildren, Kelli McPherson (Andrew), Benjamin (BJ) Richardson (Joslyn), Jesse Chase and Brett Chase; three great grandchildren, Bailey McPherson, Jacob McPherson and Bryce Richardson; two sisters, Juanita Trail, Woodstock, NB and Elizabeth Sharp (Robert), Temperance Vale, NB; a special niece, Kim Giberson (Hank), Wakefield, NB; several aunts, uncles and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two infant brothers, an infant sister and his parents-in-law, James and Madeline Foster.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul Legere and Rev. Bob Johnson officiating. Interment in Hartfield Cemetery.
