Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex on Friday, August 14, 2009, in his 97th year. Predeceased by his wife Bessie; son Grayson Clarke. Leaving to mourn are his son David (Brenda) of Toronto; daughters: Elsie Henderson (Neville) and Patricia Murphy (Tom), both of St. John’s; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday, August 16 from 2-4 and 7-9. A private family funeral service will take place on Monday, August 17 from Barrett’s Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
