Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre Palliative Care Unit on Monday, August 3, 2009, formerly of Kelly’s Brook Apartments, St. John’s and Musgravetown. Predeceased by her brothers: Will, Gordon, Leonard and Jesse. Left with fond and loving memories her husband of 52 years Austin; daughters: Margaret (Perry) Stares and grandchildren: Matthew, Joanne and Heather; Sheila and grandsons: Joshua and Luke Sinclair and Carol (Bijan) Payandeh; as well as sisters: Mildred (Wallace) Hollett, Rita (Earl) Courage; brother John (Ellen) and a large extended family and many, many friends. Memorial service was held on August 6 at the Anglican Church in Canning’s Cove. The family would like to extend thanks to the many friends who visited over the past few months. Their caring and kindness is appreciated. They would also like to say a special thank you to the tireless and dedicated nurses at the Health Sciences Complex and the Miller Centre; as well as the other doctors and medical staff who made her last few months much more comfortable. In her memory, donations can be made to St. John’s Anglican Church in Canning’s Cove.
