Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, August 13, 2009, Gordon Piercey, age 86 years of Norman’s Cove. Predeceased by daughter, Ivy Piercey Sorenson (2004); son-in-law, Peter Moores (2007); parents, brothers, and sisters. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Margaret of 62 years; five daughters and three sons: Lindsay, Frances, Clifford (Bonnie), Clara (David Moores), Leo (Rosie Feltham), Kathleen (Peter Hopkins), Eleanor (Bernie Flight), Irene (Shawn Power); eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his best buddy Dash. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Holloway’s Funeral Home, Whitbourne, Friday, August 14, 7-9:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 9:30 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. - 12 noon. Resting at Bethel United Church Sunday 2:00 - 10:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, August 17, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. Interment at the United Church Cemetery, Norman’s Cove.
