Passed peacefully away on Sunday, December 24, 2017, in the presence of his family, Douglas Joseph Dawson, age 71 years. Retired employee of Westinghouse. Predeceased by his first wife Judy Dawson, infant son David, parents Bill and Blanche Dawson, sister Linda and brother Glen. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Brenda McCarthy, his children: Todd (Lori), Shelly (Scott) and Chad (Annie); grandchildren: Matthew, Nathan, Owen and Denise; stepchildren: Cathy (Danny), Angela (Tony) and Paul (Sarah); grandchildren: Matthew, Asher and Abby; siblings: Wayne (Marilyn), Pam, Paula (Art), Bill (Ramona), Brian (June), Gary (Debbie), Debbie (Paul), Randy (Doreen), Bob (Judy), Karen, Donnie and Darren (Marjorie); in-laws: Felix, Jackie, Dave and Rhonda as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the Health Care staff for the loving care they provided to our dear Doug, and to grandson Matthew, life long friend Alf Garrett and special friends Pat and Bernardine Parsons and Robert and Marg Sequillion. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church with cremation to follow. Inurnment to take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Doug’s memory may be made to the Kids Eat Smart Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
