
Phyllis Mary Dorgan-McHugh
Peacefully at the Western Hosptal, Alberton, on Sunday, May 8, 2011, with her children by her side, of Phyllis Mary McHugh of Sea Cow Pond and formerly of Norway, P.E.I., aged 76 years.
Born at Sea Cow Pond on March 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Pierce and Patricia (nee Cahill) Morrissey. She was predeceased by her first husband, Leo J. Dorgan, in 1977 and by her second husband, Kenneth McHugh, in 2010.
Loving mother to Claude (Roma) of Tignish; Joe (Patsy) of Sea Cow Pond; Mary (Earl) McGrath of Norway; Mickey (Lynn) of Sea Cow Pond; Raymond (Nora) of Sea Cow Pond; Patrick (Gloria) of Rustico; and Juanita (Don) Leary of Cornwall. She will be sadly missed by her 11 grandchildren and by her eight great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Carmen Hogan of Tignish, Margaret (Ray) McHugh of Sea Cow Pond and Jackie (Aldona) Morrissey of Tignish. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marie Morrissey of Sea Cow Pond. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by three grandchildren: Rayanne Dorgan, John Edward Dorgan and Charles Leo Dorgan. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Dorothy Shea, Lillian Whelan, Marion Harper, Jean Ready, Betty Hogan, Everett Morrissey and Bernie Morrissey.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Funeral on Wednesday afternoon from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 4 p.m., Father James Willick celebrant. Interment in the parish cemetery.
Visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until time of departure.
