Age 77, of Dartmouth, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 11, 2018 at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Born in Whitney Pier, Sydney she was the daughter of the late Reginald J. and Annie L. (Foote) Ott.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Blair.
Sheila is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years and forever soul-mate, Robert “Bob”; sons, Allan (Jill), Cole Harbour, Jason (Tracey), Elmsdale; daughter, Karen (Terry), Campbellton, NB; grandchildren, Meghan, Amanda, Mike, Anika, Bayley, Rebecca and Kyle; brother, David (Georgina) Ott, Sydney; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Martha Warren of Sydney who held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kathleen (nee Young) Warren, Calgary, Alberta and loved by all of her extended family including many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and ACW members.
She loved being a member of the church and participating in the ACW. After high school she went to work for the Royal Bank and later worked at various branches, finishing her career at the main branch in Halifax. Sheila and Bob met numerous friends as they built their careers and family in many communities in Sydney, Middle Musquodoboit, Windsor, Lake Echo and Dartmouth. Most recently, they built friendships at Parkland on the Lakes, Dartmouth. Sheila, Bob and often their children enjoyed traveling across Canada and numerous destinations within the United States. Many memories were made during these travels that she held dear to her heart. Sheila always found enjoyment in playing cards, bowling, camping and also enjoyed a quiet evening at home with Bob watching the Leafs and Jays. She was always up for a good laugh, sometimes at her own expense.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Spirit, 1 Regency Dr., Dartmouth, NS on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Interment to follow at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, 771 Main St., Dartmouth.
