WESTVILLE ~ David Stephen Porter, 72 of Central West River formerly of Diamond Street, Westville passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.

Born in New Glasgow, on August 11, 1945, he was a son of the late David and Bernetta (Weatherbie) Porter, Westville.

David was a carpenter by trade.

He is survived by his sisters, Cathy Taylor, Colbourg, Ontario, Shirley Stewart, Dartmouth; brother Garfield Johnson (Nancy), Granton and several nieces and nephews.

David was predeceased by a brother Frank .

David is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visitation on Monday from 7-9 pm. His funeral will be held 11 am Tuesday from The Church of The Holy Name, Westville with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Spring burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery.
