Catherine Angelorum Campbell, 72 of Edwardsville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Reserve Mines, she was the daughter of the late Mickey and Mae (Finnell) Currie.
Angie was a dedicated member of Holy Rosary parish, Westmount. A graduate of the Cape Breton Business College, she was an employee at Revenue Canada for a number of years as a supervisor. She actively represented her co-workers in their union. Angie was an enthusiastic bowler who also enjoyed her many walks; but more than all these things, Angie’s dedication to all her family and especially her grandchildren, was her foremost purpose in life.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Pat) Hornibrook, Prince George, BC; sons Lawrence, Edwardsville; Kenny, Guelph, ON; Calvin (Tove), New Waterford; eight grandchildren, Sandy, Zachary, Damien, Jessie, Gabrielle, Daniel, Angelina, Kayla; a brother, Father Reg. Currie, East Bay; sisters, Theresa Amadio, Port Morien; Sr. Carmelita Currie, Mount St. Vincent, Halifax; Ursula (Mike) MacDonald, Reserve Mines; by numerous nieces and nephews and by her loving companion, Stan Hare and his three sons and three daughters and by sisters-in-law, Cecilia, Anna and Peggy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alex; three brothers, Jake, Michael, Basil and brother-in-law, Neil.
Visitation for Angie Campbell will take place Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church with Revs. Reg. Currie and Doug Murphy officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery, Westmount.
