Stephen J. M. Chehy
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Steve Chehy on January 22, 2018. Born in Fairfield, Connecticut, he was the only son of (the late) Stephen Chehy Jr. and Irene Balint.
A proud Hungarian, Steve was self-employed as a carpenter and cabinet maker. He had a great way with horses and worked with several through his life. Steve was an accomplished musician on the piano and guitar. In his later years he surrounded himself with the love of his family, his dog Pete and his four grandchildren.
He is Survived by his wife, the former Marie Hatlee; one son, Stephen R. Chehy (Melissa); one daughter, Katie Barrett (Jeff); four grandchildren, Ryan, Rebekah, Cole and Maxi, and his beloved lab, "Pete".
The body is resting at Iona Parish Hall with visitation hours Saturday, January 27, 2 p.m.-6 p.m.
