McLEAN, MAMIE G. - Mamie Gladys McLean, age 90, of the Grass Special Care Home, Riverview, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, April 18, 2011. Born in Bayfield, she was the daughter of the late Weston and Alice (Spence) Jones. Mamie was a graduate of the Provincial Normal School, Class of 1939 and taught for two years. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, gardening and reading. Mamie will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law, Rilla (Tapley) McLean (late Jim) of Port Hawkesbury, NS; a special niece and friend, Louise Hanson of Moncton as well as ten nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Douglas McLean in 1984; son, James (Jim) Harold McLean (October 2010) and brothers and sisters-in-law, William (Leah), Eldon (Jean), Ralph (Frances) and Harold (Verbena) Jones and nine nieces and nephews.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Sunday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, Monday, May 16, 2011, 11:00 am, William Drysdale, DLM officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment in the Bayfield Cemetery.
