
Floyd Stairs
STAIRS, FLOYD CHESTER - Floyd C. Stairs of Nackawic, NB, husband of Rosetta (Chase) Stairs, passed away suddenly on May 10, 2011 at Saint John Regional Hospital. He was 74. Born in 1937 at Campbell Settlement, York Co., NB, he was a son of the late Frank and Bessie (Dunlop) Stairs. Prior to his retirement, Floyd was employed with the Town of Nackawic Public Works Department. Floyd enjoyed his morning coffee with all his friends at Donnie’s Restaurant. He loved 4-wheeling, fishing, feeding his deer and he was a regular at the Millville music nights. Floyd loved his family, spending quality time with them and teasing his grandchildren was a great passion of his. In addition to his wife Rosetta, Floyd is survived by his three children, Cathy O’Donnell (Roger), Durham Bridge, NB, Allen Stairs (Michelle), Gilford, ON and Patricia Jean (Dany), Temperance Vale, NB; his mother-in-law, Flossie Chase, Hartfield, NB; three brothers, Eugene Stairs (Dolores), Temperance Vale, NB, Bernard Stairs (Minabel), Maine, USA and Ronald Stairs (Nancy), Ontario; three sisters, Winnifred Sala, Connecticut, USA, Marie Simonds, Woodstock, NB and Ethel Antworth, Maine, USA; several nieces and nephews. He was also a loving grandfather (Pae) to Joshua, Kelsey, A.J., Abby, Emily and Dominique.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was predeceased by a brother, Lambert Stairs; sisters, Marguerite, Marion and Carol; his son, Michael Stairs in 2010 and infant sons Beverly and William; infant daughter, Wanda and infant grandson Dylan.
Visitation will take place at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bob Johnson and Rev. Paul Legere officiating. Interment in Temperance Vale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Stairs, Gary Simonds, Bill MacLean, Andrew Morton, Tony Brewer and Arlis Pickard.
