BRIERE - Mr. Paul Andre Joseph Briere, beloved husband of Mrs. Rose-Helene Armande Briere of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, May 10th, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Paul leaves to cherish his memory four children, Priscilla (Richard) Peltier, Claude (Shelley), Joel (BJ Beckley), and Carmen Chase (Maurice DeGagne); nine grandchildren, Jean-Paul (Jennifer) Peltier, Danielle (Marc) Vien, Natasha, Nathan, and Nicholas Briere, Nicole and Michael Briere, Ryan and Renee Chase; five great-grandchildren, James and Jade Peltier, Parker Vien, and Mason and Jaxon Chase; one brother, Maurice; one sister, Jeanne Briere; one brother-in-law, Aldo Bianchini; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Philias and Philiberte; one brother, Rene; two sisters, Lucille Reid and Irene Bianchini; two brothers-in-law, Bryan Reid and Roland Lemay. Paul was a Life Member of the Elks and Knights of Columbus. After retirement, Paul and Helene enjoyed wintering in Arizona for many years and eventually moving and settling to Medicine Hat where they made many close friends, although never forgetting their roots in Ponteix, Saskatchewan. The Funeral Service was held in Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, #1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, on Saturday, May 14th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Bill Schnitzler officiating.
