Eleanor Eileen Leblanc  MCKENNA

Eleanor, aged 100, passed away peacefully on February 06, 2018 at Ocean View Manor in Eastern Passage NS. Eleanor was born in Sydney NS on February 12, 1917 the daughter of Archibald and Eleanor (Lamond) MacDonald.
She was a lifelong member of St. Andrews United Church in Sydney. She was a member of the UCW. She was a keen bridge player well into her mid 90's and belonged to several bridge clubs over the years.
Before going to Ocean View she had lived in Sydney until she was 97 and then moved to Acadia House in New Waterford. She enjoyed living there and made new friends, and was made to feel very at home by the loving and caring staff. She had a wonderful 100th birthday party at Acadia House and was able to have a dance and make a thank you speech.
Eleanor was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank MacDonald; sisters, Alma MacDonald and Clara McKenna, and her son, Roger LeBlanc. Also predeceased by her first husband, Arthur LeBlanc, and her second husband, Norman McKenna.
She is survived by her son, Jim (Phyllis Sherwood); stepson, Ian McKenna (Ursula); daughter-in-law, Marg LeBlanc; sister-in-law, Dee Krass; grandchildren, Jim (Liz), John (Charlotte) and Glennis (Thomas Fink), and great-grandson, Roger LeBlanc.
As per Eleanor's wishes there will be no service. There will be an internment graveside service at Hardwood Hill Cemetery in the Spring.
