It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Patricia Violet Gale-Campbell, age 67, on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the Northside General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born March 19, 1950 on Fogo Island, NL, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Hoffe) Gale.
Patricia was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a very welcoming person, who over the years, offered her home to many of her children’s friends, who referred to her as their second mother. She had a tremendous sense of humour and was known for her sarcasm. She was an excellent cook and baker and she loved to read.
Patricia is survived by her two children, Robert (CarrieAnne) Campbell, Calgary and Kellie Gouthro (Justin Taylor), North Sydney; her two grandchildren, Breton and Bailee Taylor; brother, Frank (Cathy) Gale, North Sydney; sister, Jeanne Boughner, BC; her step son, Kevin Gouthro and his children, Chris and Blake of Truro, and her three childhood friends, Margie Wells, Sharon Oliver and Sharlene Mitchelitis.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Giles Campbell, and her second husband, Jerome Gouthro.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff of 5 East at the Northside General Hospital for care and compassion shown to Patricia.
In accordance with Patricia’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will take place on Fogo Island at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the WJ Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
